Two people have been shot dead while six others have sustained varying degrees of injuries in Ejura Tuesday morning after police opened fire on angry youth protesting the murder of social activist Muhammed Ibrahim a.k.a Macho Kaaka.
The police had been firing shots into the air to calm tension after the residents took to the streets to demand justice.
The 45-year-old deceased who is said to be a member of the #Fixthecountry movement and a critic of government was attacked by unknown assailants at Saturday dawn while returning home.
He was reportedly struck in the head with clubs until he went unconscious. He was rushed to the Ejura Government Hospital but was referred to the Konfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he died Monday afternoon.
