Efia Odo has a message for Ghana Police as news of rampant armed robbery dominate the news. She points out that the police suffer more collateral damage than any other stakeholder.
Actress turned Social Activist Efia Odo wrote a very emotional letter on Facebook to the Ghana Police service. She is asking them to reconsider their recent efforts against the #Fixthecountry demo. In the letter, Efia Odo mentions the need for proper protective gear for the front-liners. In the absence of this, she demonstrates how dangerous it is for those supposed to protect us, not to be able to defend themselves.
Efia Odo wrote, “ Crime is in every part of the world. Ghanaian policemen and women are not equipped with the right protective gear. They don’t even have a bulletproof vest, but they want to purchase bulletproof curtains for parliament. This is what fix the country is also about. Our priorities are in all the wrong places. How can those who are supposed to protect us are not even protected themselves? Ghana police, please understand that fix the country is about you too. This isn’t politics, this is about the livelihood of every Ghanaian.
RIP to every police officer who’s been killed in the line of duty.”
She concluded by reminding them that asking for a better Ghana is in their interest too.
